Disability living allowance is only available for children aged 3 months to 16 years who have a long term health condition or disability which affects their ability to complete everyday tasks or who need help with their mobility. Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
PIP is a benefit to help you with the extra costs of having a disability or long-term health condition. PIP is for those aged over 16 and under state pension age. To be eligible for PIP you must need help with everyday tasks or getting around, have needed this help for at least 3 months and be expect to need it for at least another 9 months. PIP is not means tested, which means you could be awarded it regardless of any other income you have.
