Healthier Wealthier Wakefield Families

Healthier Wealthier Wakefield Families (HWWF) is a partnership between Cash Wise and Public Health. This partnership has been in place for over four years now and during that time has provided vital support for families across the district. 

Cash Wise work with Public health to deliver financial support to those eligible under the HWWF contract.

This support is aimed at families within the Wakefield district. You must have a child in your care under the age of 12, but you can be living in any tenure type. This includes private rented accommodation, with another social housing landlord, in your own home or in temporary accommodation.

Through our HWWF contract, we offer advice on a range of financial topics and will create a unique plan of support for each family, depending on their circumstances. If you require support with an area we cannot help with, we will advise and signpost you to an agency who can help.

We provide our 1-1 support via; a phone call, home visit or a visit to a community hub or even digitally. We know that it is often difficult to take the first step in discussing financial issues with another person and seeking help and support, so we are happy for you to make that first contact in a way that you feel comfortable with.

The support we can offer includes:

• Budgeting- we can offer advice on how you could save money and tips to budget more effectively.
• Grants- we can discuss your eligibility to grants to help with your financial circumstances- e.g. debts.
• Benefits- we can check if you are claiming the correct benefits, and also help you apply for them.
• Debt advice- we can discuss affordable payment plan options or signpost you to other debt support agencies for more in depth support.
